Mia POV
She was tall. Her long red cloak flowing behind her as she approached is, her face hidden behind a hood.
She came to stand before the fireplace serving as the barrier. Her hands hovered above the flames and it slowly quenched.
I narrowed my eyes, trying to get a good look at her face.
She took her time and finally pulled down the hood.
As someone who had trained my mother, I had expected her to be an old, pale, wrinkly, toothless hag but she was so young and beautiful. Her eyes were golden and her hair, shiny silver, just like mine.
Her presence was….. powerful.
I whispered to my mother. “Did you summon the right person? Maybe there was a mistake”
“There is no mistake here. She might look young but she’s at least a hundred years old as far as I know”
I gaped.
“How’s that possible?”
“She keeps herself young with magic”
