“Don’t you dare make baseless accusations against me”

“You think they are baseless? I’m sure you are aware that any pup born under an eclipse will be cursed, right?”

Tense silence descended on the room. When my mother didn’t reply, Luna Edith continued.

“Your pups were born under an eclipse, am I right?”

I could hear my mother’s faint gasp.

“How did you know that?”

“You aren’t the only one who knows things, Rosalind. I met with Night shade pack’s healer. He told me before he died”

“You killed him?”

“What could I possibly gain from killing an old fart? He had a lot of resentment towards you and your husband. He told me you banished him from the pack”

“He tried to kill my babies”

“That would have been the best option. They should have been killed from birth but you let them live. Now they are under my roof without any sign of a curse on them. But somehow, my son who was born perfectly normal has one”
