Kate POV

I rounded a corner to see a girl leave one of the rooms. I knew all the maids in the pack house but I had never seen her before.

Micheal appeared behind me.

“Who is that girl?” I said, with brows furrowed, watching her back as she retreated down the hallway.

“A new maid. Mia brought her back”

“Do they know each other?”

“I have no idea” I looked on thoughtfully till I felt Michael’s eyes boring holes inside me.

I crossed my arms.

“What do you want?”

“You” his face held a hint of a smile.

I stared at him like he had just grown two heads.

“You are one shameless asshole. You know that, right? You think you can just waltz back into my life like nothing happened? You walk around like everything is okay, but it’s not” a bitter laugh escaped my lips.

“Do you have any idea how much your rejection hurt”

He opened his mouth to speak but I cut him off.

“Don’t. Don’t say a word” My voice cracked.
