Mia POV

After our date, Lukas pulled up in the driveway. I was about to alight when he held my wrist in a firm but gentle grip.

“What?’

“I know what you’re worried about”

I raised a brow. Has he found out already?

“You do?”

“But don’t worry. I made sure the seer won’t say a word”

Thank goddess. He didn’t know.

“You can’t be sure about that”

“He knows what will happen if he ever disobeys my orders. I promised to protect you and I intend to make good on that promise. No matter the cost”

He whispered with such certainty that I actually believed him.

Warmth spread across my chest.

I reached into my purse and brought out the velvet box. “I got something for you. Open it”

He took it with a smile and popped it open.

“Turn it over”

He did and his smile turned wider when he saw the inscriptions on it.

“I had our initials engraved on it”

“LM. Always and forever. Thoughtful. I love it”<
