For days, Alex refused to speak to anyone. Not even Cedric, his best friend. I tried everything. New toys, his favorite snack. Nothing worked.

Amber, on the other hand, was throwing a fit, begging to go to the park.

“I don’t want to!” Alex crossed his arms over his chest.

I crouched in front of him. “Alex, honey, you love the park” he turned away and refused to look at me. I was slowly losing patience.

I threw my hands up. “This is getting ridiculous”

Kate gave me a look. “Not helping”

“Why don’t you want to go?” I asked.

“I just don’t,” he said stubbornly.
