Amber POV

I sat at the vanity table in my hotel room, eyeing my phone, silently hoping Cedric would call and apologize for being such an ass.

However, it was just wishful thinking.

No calls. No text. Nothing.

I grabbed my laptop and hacked into Simpsons group’s system and dug out her file.

Maybe I was going a little too far but I wasn’t about to give up.

Her profile was perfect. She had even won the employee of the year award.

I looked into her personal profile, but it was annoyingly clean. No scandal. No debt. There was nothing to use against her.

I slammed the laptop shut and fell into bed. Exhaustion kicked in and I fell asleep immediately.
