Raya’s POV
I heard a bell ring accompanied seconds later by murmurs of displeasure and then followed by the voice of Lady Tamar saying, “That’s enough for today, everyone! The business has closed for the day. Please leave, pay up, and leave.”
I admired the older woman. It was not easy running a business, especially one that was successful, but she did it so effortlessly. The fact that she could close for the day without fear of losing her customers was commendable.
Her announcement was followed by servers going around to dish people’s unfinished meals into plates to take home. I also noticed through the glass walls that the people in the queue looked like they were writing something down.
“They’re taking numbers for tomorrow,” Lady Tamar’s voice said from behind me.
“Oh! They queued just to come back tomorrow?” I asked, impressed.
“Of course! The food here is the best you can get,” I agreed with her, but I thought it was a little proud of h
