Chapter 75

Raya’s POV

I heard Tamar’s attempt at a door slam while still trying to be polite to her father; it sounded pathetic. I myself then proceeded to the library to prepare for Matilda’s lessons the next day. She had the day off because she had an appointment with a doctor.

I, however, was not allowed to leave nor did I attempt to as I knew the butler had been planted to monitor my movements. I wanted him to have no reason to mention my name to Lord Christopher while I devised a means to leave his house.

“Miss Bella.”

My heart started to race as I heard my fake name called. I had not expected to run into anybody on my way to the library.

“Yes Alfie?” The only thing I liked about the butler was his name. He gave me the creeps every time he was within standing distance of me. His eyes were cold and I could never read any emotion from there, it gave him the vibe of a killer.
