Raya’s POV

Having fallen asleep in the piano room I noticed that it was already well past the hour I had given Matilda for her break. As I had fallen asleep in my chair my legs were beginning to cramp so I decided to walk for a while to stretch my legs and to wake myself up. It was unpleasant however to run into Tamar before I could turn my back to avoid crossing paths with her, she called my ‘supposed’ name.

“Bella?” Her voice dripped with condescension as she called my name and I wanted to tell her that if she had learned anything at all from Marigold it should be that addressing people with their appropriate titles was one of the hallmarks of polite society.

“Miss?” I quipped turning to face her. Two could play at this game. Technically we had not been formally introduced so I was not wrong for mistitling her.

“What?” she looked shocked that anyone could have the audacity to give her an inferior title to the one she currently held.
