As I walked down the corridor, one of the guards rushed to where I was.

He bowed slightly. “Elder Theron has called for your attention,” he said,

I frowned, glanced at the guard who stood aside. Then I walked ahead.

I wonder what that man had to say again.

Going straight to the study room, I saw Elder Theron and Edwin seated side by side.

“The Beta is here, come have a seat,” he said as he pointed to the other side of the seat.

I bowed slightly before going to take a seat. “How is my nephew doing?” Edwin was the first to speak as he poured a drink for me.

I raised my cup. “Fine, sir,” I said as I gulped the drink in one go.

“The Alpha… don’t you think we should still appoint someone as the new head, and when he is recovered, the person will step down immediately?” Elder Theron suggested with a sheepish smile.
