Chapter 78. Why Do You Care?
Adrianna’s POV
The thick scent of herbal remedies stung my nose as my eyes fluttered open.
I blinked hard. The whole room was neither bright nor too dark. My eyes darted around slowly until they settled on someone who was asleep on a chair beside the edge of the bed.
I tried to sit up, but my body felt too heavy. Staring down at my hand, I realized Keal had my hand clutched in his.
I sighed. The movement of my fingers must have woken him. He raised his head slowly, and when his eyes landed on mine, they widened slightly.
“You’re awake?” he asked, but I did not think he wanted an answer because he was already on his feet. He placed his hand on my forehead before holding my hand and checking my wrist.
I withdrew my hand gently. “I’m fine,” I murmured, trying to sit up, and he helped me. He placed a pillow behind me and rested my back against it.
“How long was I gone for?” I asked, staring at his tired face.
“Two days,” he mumbled
