Kael’s POV
My foot tapped a slow, restless rhythm on the tiled floor as I shifted for the fifth time. “How is it going, Marcus?” I asked through the mind link.
“Not so good, people are all demanding your presence?” he replied instantly.
I sighed heavily, massaging my forehead as I slumped deeper into the couch.
“Okay, just ho…” My brain froze midway as my brow shot up, staring at the door.
The knock came again. I took a sharp breath, my eyes widened when I perceived a scent that belonged to my uncle.
“Shit, Marcus, did you send Edwin here?” I asked.
I tried to get up, but it was too late to run away. As I took a sharp breath, an energy within me burst out. I watched in horror as my outline slowly blurred until even my shadow disappeared.
