Chapter 30

Nate’s POV

The moment Ember took hold of my hand, I knew I was done for.

I hardened almost instantly, and Brutus was practically begging for me to carry her to our room and mark her. I shut him out and grinned.

Ember had made the first move. That meant she was comfortable. I was terrified that I would scare her away if I came on too strong. It was for that reason that I had decided to ignore Brutus and take everything at Ember’s pace.

I would not risk what I had waited so long to find, only to have her run for the hills because I couldn’t accept her… scars and everything. She was mine, and I was hers. We had the rest of our lives together.

I opened the door to the pack house for her and she looked up at me through her long eyelashes, a playful smile on her lips.

“I had fun tonight…” she said softly from somewhere behind me as I closed the door.

“I’m pleased. I want to be able to give you your first experience of everything that I can.
