Ember’s POV

“Time’s up ladies!”

Rob’s commanding voice seemed to echo around the gym as I stepped off the treadmill and wiped the sweat from my forehead away with a towel. I was panting hard as I turned to grin at Becky.

She was equally as sweaty as I was, but she was definitely less out of breath. My wolf shared my happiness at her swift progress. We knew it would take time to retrain my body to be anywhere near as powerful as the other wolves in human form, but I at least stood a chance of being able to defend myself effectively now.

Becky grinned and headed over to the other side of the room to grab her water bottle and Rob flashed me a quick glance before hesitantly heading over to where Becky stood, oblivious to his approach.
