Nate’s POV

I woke the next morning with a start, an unfamiliar warmth pressed tightly against my groin. My heart raced in a mild moment of panic as I shook the sleepy disorientation off and gazed upon the beautiful features of my mate.

Her flame red hair tousled wildly around her and her peaceful features almost made my heart sing with joy. My gaze lingered on her plump red lips briefly before wandering downwards to where my mark now lay on her neck.

Brutus’s pride washed over me, and I shared his emotions.

‘Soon to be mother of our pups.” Brutus boasted, puffing his chest out before him.

‘One thing at a time caveman. What if she isn’t ready for pups yet?’

‘Heat is for mating. Body is ready, that’s all that matters. Maternal instinct will come. It is nature.’ He replied gruffly.
