Ember’s POV

My heat had lasted for a week and I could feel the change that the mate bond had wrought inside me already. I had lost my self-doubt and I was no longer plagued by a lack of confidence. I had been doing well prior to our mating but since the first night, it was as if everything that had been missing had finally snapped into place.

I felt stronger and more self-assured. As if I could take on the world and win. Nate had noticed a difference too, as had the counselors that I saw on a regular basis. We agreed that I would reduce my sessions to once a month, but the option was there if I ever needed to increase the sessions again.
