Ember’s POV

The morning seemed to arrive too quickly and as the morning light streamed through the window and I felt its warmth across my face, I blinked up at the ceiling with mixed feelings in my heart.

I knew that the next few days were going to be incredibly difficult and if I was going to be accepted as Nate’s Luna, then I was going to have to prove myself in whatever capacity they demanded, but I wasn’t scared.

Far from it actually. I was actually looking forward to facing the challenges ahead.

My wolf chuckled softly in my head.

‘It makes my heart happy to see you so confident and open to facing your enemies head-on Ember. I’m so proud of how far you’ve come.’

‘How far we’ve come,’ Ember corrected her wolf as she stretched and glanced across at the peaceful face of her soul mate sleeping quietly next to her, ‘Isn’t it funny how all it takes is having a secure home and a place you feel safe in, to completely turn your life around?’
