Chapter 29. Three Weeks Without You
“By the way, I will be going to Atlanta for filming next week,” Veronica announced.
I averted my gaze from her lips to anywhere else in the room. “Great. When are you coming back? In a week?”
She fiddled with a spoon and murmured, “It's going to take a month or so.”
I didn't know how to react to the news. I became blank, so I just said, “Have fun there.” With that, I dashed to my room.
Why did it feel like my whole world came to a pause suddenly? A month without her sounded impossible. How would I live without her after our divorce? Was her presence really addicting and unique to me?
I took a deep breath and assured myself, “It shouldn't be a problem. I can definitely live happily like I used to before she came into my life. It's going to be easy. Yes, I can totally live without Veronica.”
