Chapter 33. Tempt Me
“No, cancel the interview,” I instructed Juliette over the phone in a hushed voice to not disturb Aaron’s sleep.
“But ma’am, please try to understand my situation. The agency is going to chew my head off,” Juliette cried out.
“Then let it get chewed off.” With that, I hung up the call and put my phone in silent mode before placing it on the nightstand.
For the past few hours, I have only been staring at Aaron’s face, the book in my hand left forgotten, waiting for him to murmur something in his unconsciousness which would help me figure out where he was last night. No matter how much I was trying to convince myself that it was okay for him to cheat on me, the thought was disturbing and nerve-wracking.
I positioned my head on my palm, my body turned towards him and my eyes glued on his face as if memorizing every tiny detail. I knew it was creepy, but I felt like I could stare at his face for days without getting bored.
