Chapter 42. Spilled Truths in a Car

As soon as we had a break, I approached Seth about Ashlene’s concern. He said we’d have a quick 5-minute bathroom break, and Anton ran out of the room.
Miggy and Nicho were at the other table, making triplicate copies of the documents. I was tasked with proofreading them for final printing. Basically, all hands were on deck at the moment.
“Sir, Ashlene just called me. She said she has something to ask you,” I said as I approached.
Seth looked at me like I had just asked him the most stupid question in the world. I think it was bad timing, but Ashlene said it was urgent. I was prepared to face the fire for that. Who knows what it was about?
“Can’t you tell I’m too busy?!” Seth snapped.
I got it. He was stressed… and maybe pressured as well. He wasn’t in the perfect mood to do this, but I just thought he would like to spare a minute for his daughter’s concern. I looked at the clock; we still had 3 minutes left for the bathroom break.
