Chapter 45. Day for Apologies

I was sure they had already notified her of what happened last night. Now this was another battle I had to fight. I closed my eyes and pressed the button to answer the call. As soon as she said hello, I had to pull the phone away from my ear. She was furious.

“What are you doing back there, Dylan?! Is this how you behave when I’m not around?! Is this how you respect my family?!”

I gulped. I wasn’t going to defend myself here. I knew it was my fault, my lack of judgment. I should’ve stopped when I felt the first shiver of my loins.

“I’m sorry, love. I know how wrong that was. I lost control.”

“Who were you with?”

“Nicho and Miggy.”

“Who are those people? I don’t even know them.”

Of course, I thought. How will you know your people in the office when you don’t even talk to them?

“They’re the people in the office.”

“The nerdy ones.”
