Chapter 53. Before the Storm

As soon as we reached the resort, the first thing I did was to update Seth. I sent him a text saying we safely arrived to the resort. Pablo, the driver, helped with our bags to the reception room.

The message wasn’t sent on the first try.

“You go ahead, love. I still have to update your father about our whereabouts.”

“Okay, just make it quick. You can try over there. That’s where I go when I need to reach a signal.”

Ashlene pointed to an area below a wide-trunked tree. The shed it made was large enough to protect me from the heat. After telling Pablo to take care of the bags, I went to the place Ashlene said and tried to message again.

It was sent this time. Ashlene was right. This area has the best cellular signal. I stayed there for a while, waiting for Seth’s reply and probably more instructions to follow on this trip.
