Chapter 28. Smoking
Madeline's POV
The whole party was elegant and vividly entertaining for the vampires. It did not take long to notice Victor from the crowd and they even had an interaction with Uriel. The two kept stealing glances at my table with my family, while my attention was on both of them and the red moon above.
I looked at the well outside where the illumination of the moon will be reflected on its water. That is where my ritual takes place and the vision of my prophecy will be revealed. I don’t know how that works, but Victor told me that I should just watch because it will not hurt me.
“Are you okay?” asked Count Reymar when he noticed that I was spacing out and not eating my food. I snapped and turned to him with a huge smile.
“Yes, Father. I am fine,” I said and took a spoonful of food from my plate.
“The food is delicious.”
