Chapter 27. Happy Name Day

Madeline's POV

My eyes wandered around the hall, hoping to see Victor or Uriel. Yes, I invited the two so they can witness the prophecy of Countess Marissa tonight. They should just be in disguises, though, so no vampire would notice that they are not the same kind as us. But I could not see them, so they must be hiding from the throng. 

“Happy name day, my darling,” Countess Hera greeted me when we reached in front and hugged me. “I can’t believe you are growing up.” 

I reciprocated her hug and looked accidentally at Count Reymar. He was staring at me deadpan. When it was his turn to hug me, I said something against his chest. 

“Trust me. I believe in you and everything will be sorted out,” I said and moved away from his body to look up to him. “Yes, Father. I am growing up…”

The count smiled at me meaningfully and caressed my cheek. He did not say anything but turned his back to make the two women go in front of me with
