Madeline's POV
The orchestra’s music was very beautiful in my ears and the chandelier above clustered the whole face of Uriel. His hands were tightened on my waist; his eyes fixated on me only; and his overall presence was the most bothering yet comforting thing right now for me.
“Have you seen Victor?” I asked as I sided my eyes to see if someone is listening to our conversation. “I have not seen him since a while ago.”
“I talked to him,” he whispered using a low voice. “He is trying to find something valuable here in your palace.”
“Wait, what?” I exclaimed in a whisper and glared at him. “Why would you let him and why did you not tell me a while ago?”
He gulped. “It is because you were busy and if you keep consulting us, your family and the other guests will be suspicious. You don’t want me to be exposed, right?” I grunted but realized that he was right.
