Lucas’s POV

Lena’s laughter drifted through the hallway long before I stepped inside the sitting room. They were busy with Grandma’s birthday preparations when I left them, so what was making her laugh so loud.

When I got to the living room, I groaned in frustration when I saw my mom showing her my photo album. That woman never missed a chance to embarrass me.

I walked towards them and cleared my throat to announce my presence but they were laughing too hard to care.

“Look at this one,” she glanced up at me, as she pointed to a picture of me in a ridiculous onesie. “Why are your cheeks so big? You look like you swallowed a whole loaf of bread.”
