Lucas’s POV

From Harrington’s house, I drove straight to Austin’s house. I needed someone in his rational mind to talk to and besides, I haven’t congratulated him and Daisy on their baby.

Daisy opened the door, her expression cautious but polite. “Alpha, you didn’t tell us that you were coming.”

“I didn’t really have time to call. It was a last minute decision.” I forced a smile on my face.

She stepped aside to let me come in. Austin came down from the stairs. “You look so much better now. I should have known that you didn’t need those meds to get better.”

I nodded as I approached their little baby. The baby was asleep in the living room, wrapped in a soft blue blanket. I stood over the crib for a long moment, watching the slow rise and fall of his chest.
