Chapter 10. It’s Sold
Ava’s POV
Sunlight streamed in through my small shop windows and landed upon the chaos of fabrics and designs lying on the floor. Sitting on my desk, I was painstakingly drawing out my latest design idea on my sketchbook, though my mind was a thousand miles away.
The events of the previous day replayed in my head over and over. The fear of almost being homeless and how Mason Anderson swooped in to save the day. Why did it have to be an Anderson of all the people in the world?
My phone began to ring, snapping me out of my trance. I picked it up immediately and my mood was lifted to see that it was Raelynn’s name on caller ID.
“Hey,” I tried to be chipper.
“Hey yourself,” she said, and I detected that same strand of worry in her tone. “How are you and our little one today?”
I massaged my swollen stomach with a sigh. “We are fine, I guess. Physically, at least.”
“And emotionally?”
