Chapter 30. You're Staying, Aren’t You?

Max’s POV

I climbed into the car, my head reeling from trying to convince Mason. Taking a deep breath, I closed my eyes and rested my head back as my assistant drove out of the neighborhood.

“Sir, should I book another flight to New York?” my assistant said as we got to the highway.

I opened my eyes and gazed out the window as I thought about the conversation with Mason and his little girl who looks so much like me. I had to do everything in my power to bring them back with me.

“No,” I said abruptly, “I will be staying here for some time.”

He nodded. “As you say, sir.”

I leaned back in my chair and massaged my temples as I thought of another way to convince Mason because I knew how stubborn he could be.

Then an idea popped into my head: Should I try talking to his wife? Maybe she might be able to get into him. I’m sure she would like the idea of her husband being the heir of the Anderson Empire.
