Chapter 71. I Will Make Sure to Fix It
Mason’s POV
I was leaning in the kitchen doorway, watching. Raelynn. She had her back turned to me, moving around my kitchen like she belonged there.
The smell of garlic and herbs danced in the air with the same, familiar smell. I knew it. My favorite dish, Penne arrabbiata with cherry tomatoes roasted and tossed with spice. She had not forgotten.
I pinched myself so hard on the wrist to see if I was dreaming but it hurt which confirmed that it wasn’t a dream.
For another moment I watched her stir the sauce around and muffle the sound of music played on her phone speaker. It was like a dream come true.
I walked into the kitchen and cleared my throat. “Need a hand?”
She didn’t even look in my direction. “No. You should be getting some rest.”
“I’m fine.” I insisted.
“Mason,” she snapped at me and finally gave me the evil eye. “Why won’t you listen to me? You are hurt and I can handle the cooking myself.”
