Chapter 22. Loving Them Both
Edward comforted Mila until she calmed down and went back to sleep; they stayed in that position for how long until Edward decided to carry her out of Rose's room carefully and put her back in her bedroom.
Since Rose sleeps like a log, she never heard Mila's screams.
Edward gently set Mila down on her bed, wiped her tears, and held her hand. He squeezed it, kissed it, and let out a sigh.
He kept staring at her asleep because he was afraid that if he blinked, she would be gone. But he knew he had to get up and get the medicine to put her back to sleep when she woke up in a worse state again.
It became a regular daily part of their lives, and he became used to it, but he still dreaded reliving it.
He stood up and walked to the bathroom, rummaging through the medicine cabinets.
His eyes absentmindedly stopped in his reflection on the bathroom sink mirror. He looks so stressed and wary.
