Chapter 21. You’re Safe with Me

Mila came back to Rose's room after a while. After she closed the door, she turned her eyes to Rose's bed, but she cringed when she saw Edward sitting beside Rose, he was stroking her hair and looking at his child with such sincerity.

Mila gasped and walked cautiously towards the bed, attempting to be quiet even though it made no sense. 

She looked at the clock on top of the bedside table and noticed that it was nearing twelve the midnight; she wasn't used to sleeping late, which was why she felt so sleepy already.

"G-Goodnight, Edward," Mila whispered. She didn't look at him anymore. Instead, she slid into bed and lay with her back facing Edward.

"Sleep well, Mila," Edward replied in a whisper. He then lay down and wrapped a blanket around his daughter. While Mila gradually fell asleep.

It didn't take long for Mila to fall asleep; she just has a habit of falling asleep quickly, even while she's in an unfamiliar place or wherever she is; her friend
