Chapter 25. It Was All Lies
It was nearly six in the morning, but Lia was beginning to panic since she was still in control.
Mila didn't wake up; it had to be because of what had transpired earlier between Edward and her—or perhaps because of what had happened last night?
When that thought occurred to Lia, she shook her head. It's the first time in Lia's almost seven years of living her double life that Mila has failed to take possession of her body at its exact time of waking, which explains why she can't stop being concerned about it.
Lia took a long breath and finally stopped staring at the clock on the bedside table before carefully getting out of Rose's bed, being cautious not to wake her daughter.
She walked downstairs after leaving Rose's bedroom. Her feet abruptly stopped when she noticed Edward working hard through the garden windows. He didn't see her, so she just stood there observing him.
