Chapter 31. Don’t Do This!

"What I'm talking about was-" Mila cut off Yana's words, which made her dumbfounded.

"So, you knew all along?" She shook her head sideways in disbelief. "How can you not tell me, Yana? We're best friends, aren't we?" Mila kept her distance from her as she dodged Yana's grip.

Tears started to form in Mila's eyes as she felt a sting of betrayal. Just by looking at her friend, the answer was already evident.

"Uhm, y-yes, I knew. I'm sorry, Mila."

Mila's jaw dropped to the floor at her confession. She must admit that what she knew right now was way more shocking than what she learned yesterday. 

Mila had been friends with Yana for six years, yet Yana was able to hide the truth from her. She knew everything about her, including her so-called illness.

"W-why? Why did you hide it from me, Yana?" Her voice broke as she asked her friend.

"I value our friendship, Mila, that I would not dare to lie to you. But... Your mother, Sandra Kennedy, came
