Chapter 34
Sanjiro let Yuu take him in his arms and drink from his neck as he usually did. It felt the same as always—intimate and sweet. However, Yuu drank so much this time that Sanjiro was weakened much further than ever before. He flopped limply in Yuu’s embrace.
“Yuu, I can’t really breathe,” he whispered.
“You’re dying, that’s why. Don’t fight it,” Yuu replied.
Sanjiro felt a mild sense of sadness that Yuu had drunk from him to the point of death, but he was also at peace at the thought of dying in Yuu’s arms—so that was what Yuu had meant by eternity. As Sanjiro felt himself slipping away, Yuu brought his own wrist to his mouth and ripped the skin. Blood dripped down to land on Sanjiro’s lips.
“Drink, Sanjiro. This is the elixir of life.”
