I pointed to the picture. “Do you know her? She’s Bella. She and I were very close at that time. People called us the two musketeers because we always looked for trouble.”
“She’s my Mom,” and that was when she stopped talking and turned to me.
“Oh my god. Are you serious? You’re Bella’s daughter? Wait…” Her eyes flickered to the picture, then back to me. I could now see the resemblance. What a coincidence,” she uttered, her voice in a high pitch.
What a coincidence indeed.
“How come I didn’t notice? When I first saw you, I knew you looked familiar but I couldn’t pinpoint. I’m surprised,” she grabbed me by the wrist.
“How is she? We lost contact two years back, right? I think we were still in touch when Hunter’s father was still alive. Until the unfortunate happened and life changed,” a swirl of emotions danced in her eyes. Somehow, my mind told me something was really bothering her. I couldn’t help but ask.
