Griffin’s POV
“That child is going to be the power of what we need, father.” I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists as I spoke. I hated how close I had been to finally finding out and confirming my suspicions about that child of hers. His blood was special, it could save and prolong lives. My father needed that, and I needed it. Without it I knew full well that Mystic River would always be that bit better than Silverline. I swallowed and looked up at my father. He seemed like he was deep in thought.
“Father?” I repeated. “Are you listening to me?”
“Not now, son. I have things to do,” he got up and walked out of the room, leaving me standing there, simmering with frustration. The door clicked shut behind him, and I couldn’t help but scold myself for showing any sign of weakness. I needed to remain composed, even if my blood boiled at the thought of Mystic River and that child they had tucked away. It was the only place that Evelyn would have been able to go
