Griffin’s POV

“Evelyn, I can’t let you go. I’m sorry for everything, but you need to hear me. I need to explain everything to you.” I told her desperately as I held little Ethan in my arms. He had clung to me from the minute I grabbed him from Cameron.

It wasn’t safe in this city any longer, and I had to think fast. We should get out of here and somewhere that we could be safe. I had Ethan and Evelyn back with me, and it was my chance to make things right, but seeing that mark on her neck from Nolan made me sick to the pit of my stomach with jealousy. How could she go back to him when I had been there for her after he threw her away like she was nothing for some other whore. I swallowed hard and forced myself to push that feeling aside; the last thing that I needed was to scare her and make her away back into his arms.

“Griffin, I can’t do this right now. I’m sorry, but I must take my son back to Mystic. Everyone will be so worried about me. I can’t just st
