Chapter 61. Pull the Trigger

Evelyn’s POV

“Ethan? My baby?” My heart leapt into my throat, and I felt the dread pooling in my stomach.

“Mummy?” His tiny voice cut through the tension like a sharp knife.

“Evelyn, let’s get out of here.” Griffin grabbed my hand and refused to let me turn around. I saw the horror in his eyes and knew something was wrong. I growled and shoved Griffin as hard as I could. Hearing my son’s voice for the first time in so long gave me the urge to push through. I would get my son back if it were the last thing that I did in this life; as long as my baby was safe and well-protected, I would certainly never let the boy out of my sight again.
