Chapter 63. Explanations

Evelyn’s POV

The feeling of my beautiful baby in my arms again was magical; I felt like I could finally breathe again. I couldn’t believe that I finally had my son back. I looked at Griffin and saw the guilt and regret written all over his face. Could I trust him to redeem himself? I knew Nolan would be angry with Griffin and want to kill him. This was all such a huge mess.

I was angry at Nolan for not letting me stay with him and sending me back to the pack house, and then I was angry at Griffin for going behind my back and taking blood from my child for his greedy gain; Ethan was only five years old. He had been through so much already. But now I was standing in the middle of the city, not knowing where my mate Nolan was. Griffin was my hope out of here and back to a secure safety net; I decided to trust him but keep my guard up. If he betrayed that trust, I would have no choice but to end him. I was a mother, and I had to protect my boy at all costs.
