Chapter 25. Nightmare
Ethan’s POV
I manage to hide my surprise as I hear her words, a small smirk already making its way to my lips. My kitten just spoke back at me, but I am not even angry; instead, I want to hear her speak more.
“What did you just say?” I ask, deliberately making my voice stern.
She matches my gaze, her green eyes blazing with anger. “I said you…” She trails off as Lucas turns, mumbling some unintelligible words in his sleep before he turns silent. Taking a deep breath, she continues in a lower voice, “I am off; the children are sleeping, and I don’t want to disturb their sleep.”
I watch like a sex-starved idiot as she storms out of the room, my eyes trained on her ass, which jiggles teasingly with each of her steps.
I gulped before striding out of the boys’ bedroom. When I arrive at my—our—bedroom, she is already lying on her side, face away from me, but I know she is still awake from her sharp intake of breath as soon as I lie down on the bed.
