Chapter 27. Ironic Situation
Avery’s POV
He finally looks up at me, a small glint of amusement flashing in his blue eyes. I notice he looks stressed out, and a faint stubble is already growing on his chin.
“I never knew you cared if I ate dinner.”
“Well… The table has already been prepared, and you haven’t been coming down since that day. Do you even care about what the children think?”
“They see me—”
I interrupt his words. “And you have been avoiding me whenever I am with them.”
I don’t even know why I said that!
“I am not to answer to you, Avery.” He says it in a harsh tone.
Well, I guess it is no longer ‘kitten’. I don’t know why, but I feel a flash of hurt in my chest when he calls my name in such a harsh manner.
He walks until he is in front of me, his powerful masculine cologne invading my senses. “And what sort of delusions have you been feeding yourself? I don’t avoid anyone,” he scoffs. “You are not worth it.”
