Chapter 37. Let’s Be Friends
Avery’s POV
I feel a squeeze on my waist, and I turn my attention to Ethan, who is staring at me. “What are you thinking of, kitten? There is nothing I haven’t seen, tasted, or to—”
“Ethan! That’s… enough.”
“Look at you, acting all shy now. Guess, I was the cure to your stubbornness after all.”
My cheeks heat up as I process Ethan’s words. “That’s a lie.”
“Whatever you want to believe, kitten.” He says, chuckling at the end. There is a small silence between us. My mind wanders to what just happened between us. I have been obviously trying to avoid him for the past few days since he escorted me to my old apartment, but I was lying in his arms after sleeping with him.
“Kitten?”
I hum in response before I realize myself, and I look up to meet his gaze on me. “My name is not kitten.” I retort.
“That’s my pet name for you, baby.”
“I don’t need a pet name—”
“That’s enough, kitten.” Ethan says interrupting my words. I watch
