Amelia’s POV
Solid ground at last, I thought as I gathered my things and stepped off the plane, the cool air of London brushing against my skin. As I moved through the airport, I couldn’t help but notice the coordinated movement around us that made our arrival feel like it was more than just what it was; our arrival. Adrian didn’t seem fazed by any of it though and it took me a minute to remind myself that this was his reality. I had always known that Adrian came from money, even back in high school. It was impossible not to, especially with the way people cozied up to him and wanted to be in his favor. But seeing it firsthand—watching how the people in the airport treated him—it was something entirely different.
I watched as heads turned when he walked by, the way people stepped aside to give him space. He didn’t seem to notice, but I did. He moved like the wind, like someone who was used to this treatment. Royalty, in a way. People fawned over
