Chapter 135. Freedom... Sort Of
Maggie POV
I have no idea how long I’ve been here. It’s cold. It’s dark. Though I have been getting used to the light more with the small crack in the door, so at least it’s not pitch darkness.
The metal chair is just as cold as the air in here, but at least it’s better than sitting on the floor.
In the silence of this room, my stomach growls sound like roars echoing off the walls. My throat, dry and parched, screams for water... even just a single drop.
And then I hear it... footsteps, heavy and solid, like a man’s.
He’s coming this way.
I jump up, the room spinning a little with the sudden movement and my lack of food and water, but I use what strength I have to pull the chair back from the door. I hope it’s Nelson, coming to take me to get something
