Chapter 27. Betrayal

Cassian POV

Fury envelops me as I race toward the council chamber, where I know that asshole Nolan has joined the others for war strategy.

I’m going to tear each of his limbs off one by one until he tells me where Lyra is.

My paws hit the smooth stone floor with colossal strides, and I make my way across my castle in mere moments.

I don’t bother to shift as I burst through the chamber door and catch his scent.

The others rise instinctively and step out of the way as I leap toward Nolan, his eyes wide with fear and surprise.

In an instant, my claws sink into his chest just as he shifts in response.

‘You have five seconds to tell me where she is,’ I say in the mind-link, opening the channel to all in the room.
