I can feel Lyra tensing beside me, even before I reach my arm over and hold it around her protectively. My wolf wants to pounce on the asshole and rip off his head, but I hold back, even though it takes everything I have in me.

We have a moment. Assanan is cornered. We’ve caught up with him, and he barely has half a dozen men flanking him. We have the best warriors of Oceana, Forest Kingdom, and Swamplands combined backing us up.
