Chapter 192. Return to Valtoria
The streets of Valtoria came alive with brightly colored fabrics hanging over the sprawl of desert-golden, stone buildings. Black and red flags adorned with the Valtorian insignia billowed in the hot wind, carried by marching soldiers and parading civilians. The loud cheering of the Valtorian civilization, coupled with the aroma of Valtorian street food, permeated the desert air. It echoed not just within the walls of the city, but beyond it.
Moriah drew in a long breath, her eyes closed and her lips tight and curled into a smile of satisfaction. “I’ve missed this place so much. The smell of Valtorian food, the sounds of the city. It’s so beautiful,” she said. She opened her eyes. “What’s everyone celebrating?” She asked, looking out the window of the carriage she, Damian, and Rowan were in.
“It’s the New Year’s celebration. It’s the one time people can forget everything that’s happened since the Heptagon broke, so they’re enjoying it as much as they can,” Rowan answered
