Chapter 56. Planning
~Hidden path, Sun world~
“My deepest apologies for coming so late to this meeting. I received a letter from the Archon of the Heptagon and had to make some preparations,” Queen Meridah said, then slowly raised a small ceramic teacup to her lips. Queen Meridah sat with King Arthur in one of the tents in the rebel camp. Candles in glass containers hung on short poles at the four corners of the tent and other areas, illuminating the interiors dimly, revealing the Dunes’ crest—the face of an owl—drawn onto the four dark gray walls of the tent.
Annalyn sat beside Queen Meridah, also with a cup of tea in front of her. She hadn't touched hers yet; she wasn’t really in the mood for tea but accepted King Arthur's offer to be polite.
“A letter? How come I didn’t receive one if it has something to do with the Heptagon?” Arthur asked, puzzled.
“You have been away from your castle for a few days; that could have been the reason. Given no one ever ventures into Hidden-Path
