Chapter 63. The Magician
~The next morning~
General Alexander arrived in a carriage at the refugee camp located at the entrance to the city, followed by multiple soldiers on horses. His carriage stopped in front of a large tent, and two soldiers hurried to open the door. As they pulled the two doors open, the general stepped out of the carriage.
“General Alexander, you're highly welcomed. What may we offer you?” One of the soldiers asked with a smile. His name was Emmanuel, and he was one of the higher-ranking soldiers after Captain Sylvia. He looked a bit older than her with black beards around his lower jaw and chin.
“I didn’t come here for pleasantries. I read in your letters that the soldiers who were sent to invade the Valtorian camp last night were all slain,” Alexander said, maintaining a composed demeanor.
“I’m afraid so, my lord. The Valtorians suffered heavy damage as well, but the few we suspect were left after the battle escaped along with the prince—there are soldiers
